Here are just a few of my favorite marketing, video, and media projects. Please email me at leahgerben@gmail.com for more detailed or specific samples.
PROJECT TITLE: Presidents’ Ball 2024 Promotional Video
COMPLETED:
January, 2024
ROLES:
Writer & Director
PROJECT DETAILS:
This video was a part of a larger campaign I managed to promote Presidents’ Ball, a large-scale annual event, to Grand Valley State University students.
PROJECT TITLE:
Office of Student Life Brand Guide
COMPLETED:
August, 2023
ROLES:
Project Manager, Writer, & Designer
PROJECT DETAILS:
This Brand Guide was created for all Grand Valley State University Office of Student Life staff. As one of the largest departments on campus with a variety of different programming teams, there was a need to encourage consistency across different social media pages, websites, and promotional materials. We also created a summary poster that was displayed in the office. This Brand Guide was later used as a template to create another Brand Guide for the Division of Student Affairs, a division composed of 16 different campus departments including Housing & Residence Life, Recreation & Wellness, and the University Counseling Center.
Special thanks to our student Marketing Project Manager Braelyn McCalister and student Social Media Staff Assistant Abbie Wisusik for assisting with the design process. All featured photos are from the Grand Valley State University Promotions Office.
PROJECT TITLE:
DSA Laker Weekly Newsletter
TIMELINE:
Began in August, 2022 and has is still sent weekly during all fall and winter semesters
ROLES:
Editor & Co-manager
PROJECT DETAILS:
The DSA Laker Weekly is an email newsletter sent out to all GVSU students (approx. 25,000) weekly. The objective of the newsletter is to inform students of events and resources managed by the sixteen different university departments within the Division of Student Affairs. Since its first issue, we have maintained a 60%+ open rate and 10.0 mailing score.
Content is submitted by representatives from different departments. My student editorial team (one editorial project manager, two writers, and one digital marketing staff assistant) then writes the content and builds the newsletter. I oversee the content calendar, lead weekly newsletter meetings, and review all content.
There are so many more projects I’d love to tell you about! If you’re interested in more information, please email me at leahgerben@gmail.com.
